Simple, Yet Elegant

Last weekend I had the pleasure of doing cupcakes for a friends mother's 75th birthday party.  They had a lovely lunch for her and the restaurant allowed me to bring the cupcakes in.  I was so honored that she wanted my cupcakes there and also so thankful for the business opportunity.  I did 2 dozen, one dozen of my "Birthday Cupcakes" and one dozen Red Velvet Cupcakes.  I wanted these to be very simple, but very pretty.  Simple Elegance is key in my opinion.  Less is almost always more. I think I accomplished what I set out to do!  Thanks again, Petra!

The lighting in the restaurant wasn't very conducive to taking photos, but here are a couple shots of the display I set up:

Sara's S'mores!

It is hard to even call this a cupcake.  Just a really great dessert.  It tastes exactly like it's namesake--complete with a graham cracker crust and marshmallow frosting.  I'm still not sure what kind of party you'd need to throw to have an excuse to serve these(maybe something for girl/boy scouts?!?), but get your thinking caps on and start getting creative--these cupcakes will not disappoint.

This was before the toasting of the marshmallow topping...
...and after, of course.

Margarita Cupcakes

This recipe is adapted from a cupcakery in Santa Barbara, CA.  A really great white cake with a hint of lime and the frosting infused with even more lime and oh yes, Tequila!  You just can't call anything a margarita without it!

Cupcakes are for Boys, too!

I have a few boys birthdays coming up so there will be lots of cute boy stuff to follow, but decided to experiment with some new gel paste colorings to see what shades of blue I could come up with.  I had to stop here because I just love the robins egg blue(aka Tiffany blue).  This is a swiss meringue buttercream frosting(yum!) with Sweetharts Original Chocolate Cake.

And I couldn't resist...some for the girls, too!

The Birthday Cupcake-Valentine's Style

I had my first 2 orders this week, so of course it was a great time for me to practice decorating for Valentine's Day.  The cupcakes shown in these pictures uses the recipe for "The Birthday Cupcake" complete with Sweetharts signature cream cheese frosting.

Sweetharts Signature Packaging

When you order from Sweetharts Cupcakes, we will happily individually package your cupcakes if you are going to give them as gifts.  The cupcakes are secured inside the box with a cupcake holder, but caution should still be taken while driving ;o)
We can package them individually, in pairs, in boxes of 4, however you choose.  Please note that there is an additional charge for such individual packaging.

If you are ordering by the dozen, your order will be delivered in a white bakery box, cupcakes secured, as shown below:

Red Velvet Cupcakes

This is a great red velvet cake.  Very light and moist, topped with my signature cream cheese frosting.  These are perfect for Valentine's Day(obviously these were decorated accordingly), but would be perfect for Fourth of July celebrations topped with color-less cream cheese frosting and a few blueberries on top!

Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Frosting

These are some seriously good dark chocolate cupcakes.  Dense, yet moist, and oh so chocolatey!  And the peanut butter frosting is just that:  peanut butter, with more butter of course.  How could you go wrong?!? Reese's lovers are in for a treat with this one!

Coconut Cupcakes

Coconut lovers rejoice!  This is the cupcake for you!  The combination of coconut, almond extract, and buttermilk in the cake part of this cupcake make it unbelievably moist and flavorful.  Topped with sweetened cream cheese frosting and even more coconut...how could you go wrong?!?  These cupcakes are perfect for a spring/easter themed party.  They look adorable with a jelly bean(or three) on top.  For a fancier affair, a single strawberry on top really makes these cupcakes pop!

The Birthday Cupcake

This is the ultimate birthday cupcake!  Think sugar cookie meets cupcake.  It may look like your everyday white cake, but rest assured it is not.  The sour cream in them truly sets them apart.  These are topped with deliciously rich and smooth cream cheese frosting and is available in most colors.
